Member Service Representative II


Reports To:
IBEW Branch Manager

  The primary purpose of this position is to assist Atlanta Postal Credit Union to live out our Mission, “To help our members achieve financial success by providing exceptional products and service.” Project a pleasant and professional Credit Union image when greeting members, visitors and guest.  Answer telephones and perform various clerical duties. Provide a variety of payment, withdrawal, and cash deposit services to members. Provide members with information on all credit union services, open new accounts, research and solve account problems, and give key teller and Internet branch assistance to members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with our Service Promises

  2. Open and close all share and share draft accounts.

  3. Place stop payments on share draft accounts.

  4. Provide photocopies of cleared share drafts when requested.

  5. Answer basic loan questions.

  6. Research account problems and make corrections.

  7. Order share draft checks.

  8. Complete verification of deposit forms.

  9. Assist members with the key teller and Internet Branch.

  10. Perform file maintenance to update account information.

  11. Set up share/loan allocations for accounts.

  12. Receive and announce members, visitors, and guest to the credit union.

  13. Assist members with account transactions.

  14. Assist member with loan documents from the loan department, if applicable.

  15. Maintain, balance and sell gift cards, if applicable.

  16. Process U. S. savings bonds, if applicable.

  17. Process Visa payments and cash advances, if applicable.

  18. Maintain teller cash at credit union levels, if applicable.

  19. Prepare and scan daily deposited checks, if applicable.

  20. Balance cash drawer at the end of each day, if applicable.

  21. Process night deposit, if applicable.

  22. Balance ATM, if applicable.

  23. Prepare/verify currency or coin order/shipment, if applicable.

  24. Maintain/balance branch vault, if applicable.

  25. Open and close branch, if applicable.

  26. Scan, audit, index information to member files, then shred, if applicable.

  27. Answer telephone, routing calls to appropriate personnel, if applicable.

  28. Assist members with the loan process, if applicable.

  29. Comply with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.

  30. Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Previous cash handling

  2. Computer knowledge

  3. 10 key calculator, typing and keying skills

  4. Excellent attendance and punctuality

  5. Good communication and listening skills

  6. Must be able to multi-task.

  7. Knowledge of credit union services

Physical Job Requirements:

Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, typewriter, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed.  Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of twenty to fifty pounds.
